On June 18, 2021, Netflix released Season 1 of The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals. Three hosts, Jo Franco, Megan Batoon and Luis Ortiz, travel the world in search of… well… amazing vacation rentals. Luis always picks an insanely bougie LUXURY rental, to the tune of thousands of dollars per night. Megan picks a more reasonable BUDGET rental for all of us common folk. And Jo picks the UNIQUE rental, which makes Jo my girl.
I mean, I’ve built a whole website around looking for the most unique travel experiences. Of course I wanted to know where these places were and, more importantly, whether I could actually book them. So I researched the heck out of the show, tracked down the properties and put together the complete Season 1 list with booking links below.

2026 UPDATE: I originally created this list when the show premiered in 2021. I’ve gone back through every Season 1 property for 2026 to update booking links, replace dead ones and figure out which of these amazing vacation rentals you can still actually stay in.
Ican’t get enough of travel television shows. So when a new one drops on one of the streaming services, I gobble the entire series down like it’s Monday at Crumbl Cookies and I have to sample all the new flavors of the week as fast as humanly possible with my own private pink-box unboxing ceremony. IYKYK.
Staying somewhere just because you need a bed is touristy. Planning a trip around a one-of-a-kind place to stay is tourist-ish.

Why This Show Had Me Hooked
I’ve loved vacation rentals for years. Some of my most memorable stays have been places that felt like part of the trip rather than somewhere we happened to sleep at night.
That’s why shows like Netflix’s Stay Here, Instant Hotel and The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals are basically catnip for me. Give me a cave house, treehouse, converted something-or-other, ridiculous view or property with a story behind it, and suddenly I’m checking airfare to a place that wasn’t even on my radar five minutes ago.
And that’s really what I love about vacation rentals. A great hotel can absolutely be memorable, but there are vacation rentals so unusual that the stay itself becomes the destination. The more of those that exist in the world, the happier my travel wish list gets.
I’m not going to review the show. That’s not what you’re here for.
You want that obsessive travel friend who actually took the time to Google-stalk all the places Jo, Megan and Luis got to stay. You want to see the properties. Check the prices. Add them to your Airbnb wish list or travel bucket list.
Don’t worry. I got you.

LUXURY – Tordillo Mountain Lodge – Judd Lake, Alaska, United States
BUDGET – G Bar M Ranch – Clyde Park, Montana, United States
UNIQUE – Storyteller Overland – Moab, Utah and Telluride, Colorado, United States –
This one sent me down a serious Google-stalking rabbit hole. I couldn’t track down the exact Storyteller Overland campervan featured in the episode or find Campervan Tim renting one in Moab.
But here’s the good news: you don’t actually need Campervan Tim.
You can rent a campervan through RVShare and recreate your own version of this trip almost anywhere. Look for a Class B campervan or Sprinter-style van if you want something similar to what Jo, Megan and Luis drove in the episode.
And honestly? Of all the properties in this episode, this may be the easiest experience to recreate yourself. Pick a campervan, choose your road trip and suddenly the rental isn’t just where you’re sleeping. It’s how you’re traveling, too.
As for where they actually camped, I did some sleuthing there too. Their first night was in Canyonlands National Park outside Moab, and they definitely descended the Shafer Trail Switchbacks, which has enough of a pucker factor in a Jeep. Good on ’em for doing it in a campervan.
My best guess is that they camped somewhere along Shafer Trail, White Rim Road or Potash Road, but I haven’t been able to confirm the exact spot.
Their second night was near Telluride, Colorado, but the footage was too nondescript for even my obsessive Googling to crack that one. At one point I started wondering whether Campervan Tim was actually based in Colorado and I’d been Google-stalking the wrong state entirely.
If anyone has found Tim or either exact campsite, please tell me. I have a list to complete.

Final Thoughts
Jo, Megan and Luis found some incredible properties in Season 1 of The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals, and the show absolutely succeeded at making me want to start planning trips around places I hadn’t known existed five minutes earlier.
And apparently it succeeded with you too, because here we are Google-stalking vacation rentals together.
If you’re not done yet, I already did the same obsessive research for every property featured in Season 2.
And if Netflix’s definition of “budget” occasionally makes you question your own financial situation, I also have a list of my favorite amazing vacation rentals for regular people.
If there’s another travel show full of ridiculous places to stay that you’d like me to Google-stalk, tell me in the comments. I clearly cannot be trusted with this kind of assignment, and I mean that in the best possible way.
And if you’re similarly obsessed with unique places to stay, unforgettable things to do and travel experiences actually worth going out of your way for, join the Touristish email list. I’ll send you the places I find that make me immediately start checking airfare.
